Principal Investigator: Leah C. Elwell, Invasive Species Action Network

Years Funded: 2012-2013

Project Description:
On March 12th and 13th, 2013 in Providence, Rhode Island, the Invasive Species Action Network and the North East Aquatic Nuisance Species Panel co-hosted the International Didymo Conference, where leading scientists and managers shared their work and experiences with the invasive alga, Didymosphenia geminate (didymo). The conference hosted sixteen different conference presentations and five poster presentations from national and international scientists. As a direct result of the conference, a group of participants completed a management/policy recommendation white paper to assist managers in dealing with didymo both in the Mid-Atlantic and nationally.
